The Ibarat Education Development Initiative (Ibarat Initiative) is a decade-long project designed to bring about profound and meaningful improvements in the quality of education in Kyrgyzstan.

The Ibarat Initiative
The Mission
We want to develop several kindergarten and primary education institutions and a teacher training centre that serve the needs of many families living in developing areas of Kyrgyzstan.
We hope that these schools will offer affordable high-quality education with its unique philosophy that combine best international practices and reflect the Kyrgyz national values.
Key Components
As part of the Ibarat Initiative, we plan to work on developing our work in the following three major areas:
Ibarat Karakol School
Funding goal: $650,000
In addition to our two schools currently operating in Bishkek, we plan to open a third school in the regional town of Karakol.
Serving a population of approximately 75,000, the existing schools in Karakol are operating well beyond their capacity, which negatively impacts the quality of education.
We envision establishing both a kindergarten and an elementary school in Karakol.
To accommodate as many children as possible, our budget for the project includes the expansion and renovation of a property that has already been secured.
Ibarat Elementary School
Funding goal: $650,000
Our long-term goal is to establish an elementary school in a third location where the need is greatest.
This school will embrace a unique educational philosophy that integrates the findings from our ongoing research and expertise, international best practices, and the local Kyrgyz cultural context.
Our primary education program for children aged 6-12 will incorporate the most effective and current methods, focusing on self-directed learning, critical thinking, and collaborative projects to build a solid academic foundation.
Ibarat Education Development Fund
Funding goal: $400,000

- Continue to strengthen our current schools while laying the groundwork for expansion into new locations.
- Invest in our teachers and staff by establishing a Ibarat Teacher Training Center in Bishkek, empowering preschool and primary educators across the country and beyond.
- Launch the Kyrgyzstan Montessori Society, uniting top schools and professionals to collaborate on developing a national Montessori curriculum and upholding international education standards.
